For those who have started the general medicine specialty training under the new specialist system and have passed the training completion examination after completing the prescribed program, and for those who have been recognized as eligible according to the rules regarding the transition to specialist in the general medicine specialty field. We will conduct the general practice specialist certification exam (CBT exam and interview exam).
Candidate should make their own reservations for the CBT exam from this page. The Japan Medical Specialist Organization (General Incorporated Association) will provide details regarding the interview test.
Please note that the General Practitioner Certification Exam CBT has two exams (morning) and (afternoon), and you must take both exams.
Regarding the question format of each exam
- The morning exam will be in a sequential answer question format (case questions in a non-returnable format used in common exams such as CBT).
- Afternoon exams are normally reversible, type A (1 correct answer, 4 incorrect answers), X2 type (2 correct answers, 3 incorrect answers), and X3 type (3 correct answers, 3 incorrect answers). There are three types of general questions or case questions (including single questions and multiple questions).

Notes
Scheduling
- To make a reservation, you will need an application number issued by Japanese Medical Specialty Board. Please have these ready before you start making your reservation.
- It may be difficult to make a reservation after the priority reservation period has passed, so please make sure to make your reservation during the priority reservation period.
- Reservations can be made up to four business days before the test date.
- Business days are days excluding Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and year-end and New Year holidays.
On the day of exam date
- Reception is open from 30 minutes to 15 minutes before the start time of the exam. If you are late to the reception desk, you will not be able to take the test, so please arrive with plenty of time to spare.
- You will be required to present the designated Identification Document on the day of the test. If you cannot present it, you will not be able to take the test.
